On April 21st 2025, “Pope” Francis passed away.

Prior to his passing he succumbed to many heath problems and was not doing physically ok.

The sudden death of Francis brought a wave of “Trad” Catholics and other adherents to the Novus Ordo to pray for the “repose of his soul” and reflecting on his impactful “Papacy”. However, the obvious fact is that Francis was a manifest Heretic and not Christian.

He advocated for religious indifferentism, made public statements that “All Religions are a path to God”, prayed with pagans on various occasions (Procession of Pachamama in the Vatican, Praying with the “sacred circle of spirits”, etc) and various heresies.

Francis is a glaring problem for Catholicism in general, however–the even bigger problem is Vatican II.

Vatican II is a revolutionary council that was held from 1962-1965, which attempted to change many defined dogmas such as Absolutely No Salvation outside of the Catholic Church. And dogmatically stated (in Lumen Gentium specifically) that Muslims, Pagans and, Jews that deny Jesus can efficaciously worship God or seek God in a “shadow”. Which is completely contrary to Scripture, which states all pagans worship Satan and not God:

But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, THEY SACRIFICE TO DEVILS, AND NOT TO GOD: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils. (1 Corinthians 10:20 KJV)

Whosoever transgresseth, AND ABIDETH NOT IN THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST, HATH NOT GOD… (2 John 1:9 KJV)

WHO IS A LIAR BUT HE THAT DENIETH THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST? HE IS ANTICHRIST, THAT DENIETH THE FATHER AND THE SON. WHOSOEVER DENIETH THE SON, THE SAME HATH NOT THE FATHER: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. (1 John 2:23-24 KJV)

The evidence of the radical changes from Vatican II to the present day leaves those seeking for truth at a dead end. If Catholicism is True, either the Church has Defected (dogmatically impossible)–or, the claimants to the Papacy are not Popes but anti-Popes.

“Pope” Francis and the Vatican II Church leads someone to Sedevacantism–it is the only logical conclusion if Catholicism is True. There have been many anti-Popes in the History of Christianity and even extended periods without a Pope (interregnums, the Great Western Schism). So considering the evidence, the Sedevacantist position–that ever since Paul VI to now there have been false claimants to the Papacy that run a counter-church doesn’t sound that absurd.

It is definitely a hard pill to swallow, if Sedevacantism is True–that means there is practically no Sacraments for you to receive, or Mass to attend. Since most of the validly ordained Priests (before the new Rite of Ordination) have passed away.

Most Sedevacantists in light of this fact urge people to pray 15 Decades of the Rosary per day to compensate for this lack of Church Community. Don’t get me wrong, I love the Rosary and I wish I prayed it more often–however there is nothing like having a Church to attend.

It is a dead-end in pursuit of Doctrinal Truth, and honestly it has been rough to realize in my year-long study of the Apostolic Churches of Eastern Orthodox and Catholicism.

If Catholicism is true there is no Mass to attend, no Sacraments, and we are in the “end times”. Many people have made this same Apocalyptic Claim, it truly is hard to believe. Is this movement just another Ellen G. White, David Koresh, Charles Taze Russell with it’s hints of Truth?
